Bob Weir and Ratdog &
Chris Robinson Brotherhood
Sunday, August 24
A founding member of the Grateful Dead, Bob Weir has earned the musical legacy of an utterly strange rhythm guitar player and songwriter who grew up in one of the most lasting outside bands of the 1960s. Playing with the Dead until their dissolution following the death of Jerry Garcia in 1995, Bob has since made his primary musical home in RatDog.
RatDog, originally RatDog Revue, was formed in 1995 by Weir; bass player Rob Wasserman; guitarist and harmonica player Matt Kelly; and drummer Jay Lane. While the band often picks and pulls from the canon of the Grateful Dead, shows also include original tunes and a range of covers from the Beatles to Bob Dylan.
Chris Robinson Brotherhood (featuring Chris Robinson, the lead singer of the Black Crowes) began as an experiment but became a band during a California residency tour. As well as Robinson, the band features fellow Black Crowes member Adam MacDougall; Ryan Adams; collaborator Neal Casal; bassist Mark Dutton; and drummer George Sluppick.
